How often do we actually feel like we got what we paid for? Not too often unfortunately. It's rare these days to find a company or a person to go the extra mile to insure a quality product but we found just that with Phil Carpenter. The house we purchased from him is not only beautiful in design but solidly built and filled with quality products not limited to floors, windows and cabinetry. The attention to detail he puts into his building projects is unlike those found in the larger builders, mass produced homes.

Since our purchase, we have had Phil come and add some windows to our family room and install a beautiful backsplash and lighting in the kitchen which has added a lovely ambiance. We are planning on having him come back and finish our basement in the not-to-distant future.

We definitely got what we paid for and so much more. It's been a pleasure to work with Phil, truly an unexpected surprise.

My wife and I have been involved with the building of three homes and our best experience has been with Philip Carpenter. Phil builds a true top quality "custom" home just the way we wanted it instead of a cheap "mass produced" home that many contractors build.

Phil was willing to let us design and build the house we wanted from start to finish, but was very willing to give advice whenever it was asked of him. Probably the thing that impressed me the most is the way Phil would allow us to make minor changes even after the construction began without charging outrageous fees.

My wife, along with many friends and family, was very skeptical of the completion date. Three and a half months to build a house does seem to be a short time. The amazing thing is that it was completed and we moved in 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I think that this is due to Phil's great attention to detail and his great working relationship with all of the contractors that work with him.

Without a doubt when we are ready to build our next home Philip Carpenter will be the contractor of our choice.

In the summer of 2008, Phil Carpenter built an almost 800 square foot addition on our home. The addition included a mudroom, laundry room, half bath, an open great room as well as a completely remodeled kitchen. In all honesty, it was difficult at times living in our home with all the renovations going on but looking back it was certainly worth the temporary discomfort. Phil was extremely helpful in all aspects of this project. He offered many innovative ideas which improved the efficiency and appearance of our home. For example, he built a custom bench with shelving and hooks in our new mudroom. He helped update and remodel my formerly outdated kitchen with all new cabinets and beautiful granite countertops. Cooking is actually more enjoyable in a well designed functional kitchen!

Phil is extremely organized--he gave us a handout which included a detailed time schedule on when and what work was being done. We had no problems with any of subcontractors that worked on addition. It has been two years since the completion of the addition on our home and we are still very pleased with the quality of the workmanship. As a family, we now spend most of our time in the addition part of our home. It was definitely a worthwhile investment.

We had been looking for 3 years to find a retirement house.
The basic requirements were to have a rancher with gas heat, a fantastic kitchen, a finished basement and a nice porch.
After speaking with several builders we were demoralized with that we couldn't keep to our budget for our last house with the comforts we wanted.
Then we met with Phil Carpenter. He gave us hope that we could keep our budget in line and provide us with what we wanted.
Phil provided us with a list of folks he had built homes for and without reservation told us to call any of them for references. Who does or can do that anymore?
He took us to see a family home he had recently built of which we based the plan our new home.
Phil handed us a building schedule that rarely strayed from the date and finished the house in little over 3 months!
With this being our first custom built house, Phil made everything easy.
He gave us contact information for all the contractors building the house so we could make informed decisions.
All the contractors were of exceptional skills and fun to work with.
Phil, was very open to new ideas and did an excellent job of carrying them out.
We are very happy with our new rancher with gas heat, a fantastic kitchen, finished basement with a bonus art room and 3 porches!

Building a home is no small feat, especially when you’re new to the process and pregnant with your first child. We spoke with several builders before being referred to Phil. The builders we spoke with were unorganized and unable to provide timely cost estimates. We didn’t feel comfortable handing over that amount of money to any of those builders.
Then we met Phil. From day one, he was on time, organized and very clear about cost estimates. We were provided a detailed line by line cost estimate as well as a detailed project schedule which outlined the work that was planned for each day. Even given all of the setbacks with rainy weather, Phil met every project deadline on the plan.
Throughout the entire process we were reminded that we were the customer and Phil aimed to exceed our expectations. We had several changes that came up throughout the construction phase and Phil was able to quickly and easily adapt. He made the entire process of building a house as stress free as possible and truly exceeded our expectations. Phil’s integrity and honesty throughout the process were very clear, and the quality of his construction is second to none!

We have just moved into our dream home! We started this project with a bunch of pictures and ideas that we had seen in various places such as Pinterest and asked Phil if he could make these ideas happen. He said yes every time! From start to finish Phil made the process as easy as building a custom home can be. If you've ever had a custom home before you know there are a lot of choices to be made and a lot of research to be done in knowing what to pick. He gives you a list of things you need to start working on and general deadlines to have those choices made. He sends you to some of the most helpful subcontractors to choose things such as flooring, tile and custom cabinetry. Any time we had a question or concern, Phil was available by email, phone or messaging and was very prompt in getting back to us with answers. The best part about using Phil is that he does on-site work himself. He is right there building custom built ins and special walls such as the ship lap we had done, and is personally overseeing the work of all of the people working on your house to ensure the high quality standards he has.
